I seriously wear these shorts everyday of my life.

Technical Difficulties

But not really, haha. My interviewee has yet to get back to me via email so once she does, the interview will be posted. I also have another "interview" lined up (I like talking like these are real interviews), just for you guys! I am too kind. Anyways, outfit today.

Julius Caesar. We're reading it for school :)

Awkward picture.

Zooey Deschanel

It is possible that I am completely infatuated with her. She is so small and cute, and her style is impeccable! She keeps it simple, but still looks fabulous in her own indie way.

My favorites.

Nice, fancy dresses. I love how she wears tights with everything. Classssy.

I love looking at event pictures. I feel they bring out the celebrity's (for lack of a better word) personal style much more than photoshoots or things like that.

With Marc Jacobs! :)

ps- Expect another "interview" with another wonderful girl who also happens to be a well-known (I would say) blogger. The suspense!

Hola Barcelona!

I've been obsessed with foreign street style lately. It amazes me how people all the way across the world share common trends with us while still expressing their unique culture, if you know what I mean.

This first picture is my favorite. I love the layering of everything and the apples.

Hooray for colored bottoms.

And a snazzy boy who apparently has an unfortunate habit of smoking :(

PS- Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll! Anyone who hasn't, please do!

Etro

Etro's Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear collection was fantastic. It was so versatile and fun and beautiful!
Who else could incorporate (what seems like): military inspired pieces...

Russian influence, shaggy coats, little floral dresses...

Business attire...

And then end it all with some Native American meets Sun God meets Angelic fusion (yes, I just made that up.)

What do you think? And what was your favorite collection?

Meet Yulia

Name: Yulia
Location: Slovakia, Zylina
Age: 19
How would you describe your style? "Very laid back, funny, colorful. Mostly 80's inspired. The moment when disco and street meets."
What are your favorite pieces of clothing? "Leggings and heels."
Where do you get inspiration from? "My dad's old vinyl records, my mum's old fashion mags, madonna clips and everyday life."
Do you follow trends or do you set them? "It depends and is hard to specify. Things I wear often don't follow the latest trends and don't really become trends. You see what I mean. I just wear what I like and what I feel like."
Who are your ultimate style icons? "Debbie Harry and Pat Benatar."

Can't you imagine her in the crazy colorfulness we call Moschino Cheap & Chic?

And in the middle of this painting?

Because I can.

Welcome to Copenhagen

Who ever knew that Denmark, specifically Copenhagen, had such wonderfully dressed people? I didn't, that's for sure. Anyways, the wonderful Bianca showed me this blog about Copenhagen street style. It's amazing.

(As usual, click to enlarge.)

I love their use of grey scale monotony.

How can you not stare at that great striped cardigan?

Find me those yellow jazz shoes and that last sweatshirt. Thank you.

Copenhagen is so effortlessly chic. I want to go there now.
Oh, and don't worry. Yulia will be shown here tomorrow. I know you can't wait :)

A Little Late

So I guess I was a little late dressing up for Valentines. I wore my new pink top that has lace and is beautiful and totally makes me think of Valentines and hearts and red balloons. Yeah, not weird or anything :)

I'm doing my first "interview" tomorrow with this lovely girl named Yulia. Be excited.

Hint

I recently discovered Hint Magazine and I have to say, I love it. I first checked out the featured multimedia and the three photoshoots were labeled "Bright Angles," "Streetniks," and "Easy Breezy." The latter was about menswear so I decided to check out Bright Angles first. It was full of spectacular colors for Spring- in the clothes and in the cool background things that popped up everywhere (go see what I'm talking about! It's so cool!) I couldn't help but to stare at each picture for a good 5 minutes each. I, then, moved on to Streetniks. The description talked about how radicals choose asymmetry and hoods over turtlenecks and berets. I was a bit confused and assumed that the spread would be okay. This turned out to be untrue. In one word, the photos were amazing! They were so clever and strange and...beautiful. The spread was basically about following your own path and dressing how you please.

Please tell me how amazing it would be to walk around with that metal/wire contraption attached to your coat.

Prim

As some of you may know, a group of people (myself included) are starting an online fashion magazine called Prim. It will be making its debut April 1, 2008 and includes an interview with Peter Bjorn & John, and other snazzy things. You can check out Prim's myspace here.

So, as I said before, my cousin was down here for the 3-day weekend partly to visit us and partly to visit her brother who goes to USC. She bought me the comfiest sweatshirt EVER from the USC bookstore, which I've basically been living in all weekend. I wanted to continue the streak into today, hence the outfit:

I hate the cold.

Mike and Chris

Sorry for the lack of posting for the last couple of days. My cousin came down from San Jose for the weekend. Basically all we did was shop :) I'll post pictures later/tomorrow. Anyways, while she was here, she introduced me to Mike and Chris. Made up of husband and wife- Mike Gonzalez and Christine Park-Gonzalez, it started of as just jackets and coats but now includes a whole womens and mens line. The line consists of beautifully distressed leathers (not that I would wear leather!), oversized buttons, antique brass eyelets, and unconventional detailing/styling. The latest collection on their website was Holiday '07, so here you go. Click to enlarge.
