And so, I am back :) I'm sorry I haven't posted, life is a little crazy at the moment but the short break has given me time to get (mostly) everything back together. Thanksgiving break was super fun as I went to the Grand Canyon to freeze my ass off with family and friends. I didn't really wear anything interesting but here are some pictures for the visual learners :)

And I GUESS I owe you guys some type of update on life recently haha, so here are some recent/random pictures.

This was part of Homecoming Week, it was Seniors Day and since I'm in class council, we dress up for all the days (I'm a junior). And so, I was a cop and basically that's me blowing my whistle and stopping a robber haha.

This was one of the days of CIF for tennis. We painted our faces and wore our jackets because that's how cool Varsity Girls Tennis is.

This was at our tennis banquet, I really liked my top :) And the back was pretty cool too, which is below.

This was at my best friends sweet 16 a couple of weeks ago (that's not her by the way haha), I'm on the left if you couldn't tell.

That's basically it, I should probably go study for my history test tomorrow but instead, I will probably go look at all my favorite blogs and comment you beautiful people. I'll post again soon (if I feel like it which I probably will so don't worry).

So I thought I'd post about someone who's not exactly popular in the style department (not counting the crazed Hannah Montana fans, you know the ones with those shiny scarf things?) Although Miley's outfits aren't really ground-breaking or innovative, they are quite pretty for a 15 year old. On a side note, my friend Manasa and I are slightly obsessed with the MileyMandy shows on Youtube, which are basically all we watch when we are reunited. We're also slightly jealous of Miley's life and her closet, in case anyone was wondering.

And she has the same Marc Jacobs bag as me :) Except mine is brown and cooler.

I haven't taken a picture of my outfit for like ages except day before yesterday because I busted out my boots that I haven't worn since like February or something. But anyways HOW ARE YOU GUYS. Thank you for all the comments and honesty box messages ha. My summer has been super busyy, I have sat BOOT CAMP every day 8-1 and then I had tennis for the first 4 weeks of summer. But, the first week I was in Italy! So here you go, many many many many pictures.

Zachariah Bryant

I'm been such a procrastinator lately. I read about Zachariah Bryant in this month's Nylon a while ago, and thought I would post about him. I'm just getting around to this now! I need help, haha.

Anyways, for those of you have read Nylon this month, you probably saw the little paragraph about him with a model, well, modeling his clothes (page 76). For those of you who haven't seen it, the model is wearing a super cool tie-dye sleeveless mini with a cream sleeveless cardigan (?) and some fringed gladiators. It was perfection. After seeing her, I knew I had to get onto his website and check it out. His Fall 2008 collection is full of surprises- tutu-esque skirts, big printed bombers, pretty cardigans, turtle-necks, and cute little printed dresses. I'll let the clothes speak for themselves.

Hot vs. Cold

I feel like it's so much easier to make different combinations of outfits in the cold weather (ie: Fall/Winter) compared to the hot weather (ie: Spring/Summer). I'm not complaining, but it's hard to layer things differently without overheating or being uncomfortable. Although, I do like the ease of slipping on shorts and a flowy top (or in this case, a dress and a thin cardigan!)

I'm loving the whole soft/feminine-ness that's going around right now. It makes everyone seem much more delicate, but still real at the same time. I got this shirt a couple of weeks ago and forgot about it, but I got a chance to wear it today! It was 85 degrees! I love the butterfly sleeves :-)

Last night was Sadies! It wasn't that great, the before and after were much more fun. (We had a sleepover after and were up till about 4. And then woke up at 8.) They were so strict on dresscode! It was ridiculous, but we got in haha. Anyways, this is what I wore to school yesterday and what we wore to Sadies. We were supposed to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid :-)

Does anyone remember that song? It was in this old, old sitcom that doesn't run anymore, and whose name I forgot, but it was very funny. It was pretty hot today, around 82, but it was nice. I just got back from the doctor (again) and I have to wear my glasses for 2 weeks to school! Bleh, he said before I could wear my contacts to school and put my glasses on at home, but apparently my eye is not healing sooooooo I have to "let my eyes breathe." Poo.

Sinking In

I'm in a very happy mood today! I got to skip 1st period to go to the doctor (again, yay!) and apparently, I missed the most boring history class ever! So that's good :-) I finally got my contacts back, so I can see without glasses again! I also started passing out my sixteenth birthday invitations at school, so the reality of me turning 16 is finally sinking in. Even though I still have 44 days left to my birthday (yes, I counted) and 47 to my party, I'm super excited! The invitation is printed onto cds and Britney's "Oops I Did It Again" is recorded onto it, only because it makes me happy.

And what I wore today- my new shirt! It says "kicked out of the love club."

The Beginning Of The End

'Tis the last day of Spring Break :-( I don't want to go back to school! I was having much fun walking slowly around my house and the neighborhood. My friend and I plan on spending the majority of the day at Barnes and Nobles, relaxing and reading. It will be very soothing, seeing as how it is around 97 degrees outside! At least I'm getting a chance to wear my new shorts!

It's a very simple outfit, but who really wants to dress up when it's this hot outside? Not me...

Blind

is what I officially am. Okay, well not yet, but my eyes keep getting worse and worse. After a trip to the optometrist yesterday, my doctor told me that one of my corneas is swollen (...?) and then I can't wear my contacts till my next appt. which we took for Monday morning so I wouldn't have to wear my glasses to school. It's not that I look ridiculous in them, but rather I feel weird in them! If someone took them off, I wouldn't be able to see anything! And wouldn't that be unfortunate?

Anyways, most of yesterday (before my appt) was spent painting shirts and trying to destroy my new shorts with my friend. I messed up on the shirt and then tried to erase it with bleach which was a bad idea. So then, I washed it and tried to paint over the bleach but, since the shirt was still wet, the paint spread everywhere so I put it in the dryer hoping to tame the stupid Shirt. Bad, bad idea. The paint got all over the inside of the dryer, my mom got mad at me, and my shirt was ruined! It was a sad day. But, on the plus side, my shorts turned out pretty cool. I sprayed some bleach on them, and splattered some black paint. The cheese grater didn't work (someone on TeenVogue said to do this..) but oh well! After the appointment, that same friend and I went shopping at the Spectrum. I got two lovely shirts- one is very springy and the other is very summer casual. I plan on wearing the latter to school Monday or Tuesday, so I'll post a picture then. The first one, however, I don't know when I'll be wearing, so here you go! (I apologize in advance for the sucky pictures! I took these last night.)

Home Sweet Home

If you couldn't tell from the title, I am back from my 1 1/2 day trip to Vegas! :-) It was very relaxing, I have to say.
We stayed at New York New York:

We reached there Sunday night- ate at a Mexican place in the hotel and walked around some. In the night, my parents went to gamble (good parenting skills, ya?) and I was left to myself in the room. But it was okay, I watched some tv and finished up my book that I hadn't been getting any time to read. The next day, we went to this huge mall called Fashion Show Mall. It was probably the biggest mall I've ever seen (besides the HBK mall in Thailand but that's a different story!) It had some good shops and I bought some sweatpants from Express (haha!), a white top and necklace from Forever 21, and some new jeans from Zara. I've been needing new jeans for a while now. They're not as tight in the leg as I'd like, but they make my butt look nice :-) And while we're talking about jeans, does anyone know what brand/store sells tight-in-the-leg jeans? Not too tight, but pretty fitted? You would be much help! Anyways, I wore this shopping (sorry for the bad picture!):

That night, we went to see Le Reve, which was amazing. It was an aquatic show and I would have taken pictures for all of you but you weren't allowed to :-( But if anyone if going to Vegas soon, I definetely reccomend it! I wish I could do what the performers did, they were crazy. I did snag a picture of the "stage":

It was basically a pool of water, with occasional "floors" coming up every now and then. It was pretty cool :-)

I'm Lagging

and I am truly very sorry! Yesterday was a minimum day (first day of spring break! Yay!) and didn't wear anything too blog-worthy. After school, some friends came over and we made (or rather, my mom made) our outfits for Sadies. The theme is Under the Sea, so we're going for an Ariel reference with green skirts and purple tops. The material is pretty cool, I have to say. We kindof ran out of time since I had to go work on a science project (...yay) and so my mom didn't make mine yet. But once she does, I will definetely post it! I like how it turned out :-)

Tomorrow, I'm leaving for Vegas until Tuesday. It's a short trip, and we're basically only going because a hotel there sent my dad free room tickets for his birthday (the 12th). I think we're seeing a show (I forget which one) Monday night and hopefully shopping earlier that day! I'm excited, and will most likely bring my laptop so I can post my outfits/pictures.

I might go shopping today to get those shorts I posted down there, I hope I do! Yeah, so that's basically it. I have to go shower, I just got back from the gym. And so this post isn't sucky, here is some (maybe) inspiration!

I apologize for the serious lack of posts lately! I'm bad. Anyways, I might go to Bamboozle this weekend! My friends had an extra ticket and asked me to go, I don't even have to pay for the ticket! Yay! My mom has somewhat agreed but she is (currently) saying no to me staying over at a friend's house Saturday night (we're going for both days.) Hopefully that will change. I'm very excited! The only concerts I've been to are those of local bands. I hope I can go! Onto my title..

On another note, I went to Olvera St. in Downtown LA yesterday for a Spanish project with some friends. It's a street that Mexicans used to live on a long long long time ago. Basically now, it's a street full of street vendors selling authentic Mexican things, tiny resteraunts, and dancers/singers. It was really cool and besides getting our project done, I got this snazzy bag :)

And I got these things called worry dolls. It comes in this bag:

The little paper inside the bag says: There is a legend amongst the highland Indian village of Guatemala. If you have a problem then share it with a worry doll. Yes! Sorry for not posting the last couple of days, outfits were mediocore and I was bussssy. I went to see Shutter last night! It was o scary!!!! If you're planning on seeing it, DON'T. Anywho, at the place we went to, there was this tiny store that reminded me of Charlotte Russe or something, but with better clothes. It was pretty cheap and I probably would have bought some things if I had remembered to bring more money haha. I tried on this pair of high-waisted shorts and I am kindof in love. I hope no one takes them before I get to go again!

I Have A Legit Reason

for not posting, in case you were wondering. Most of my family was here since Thursday for my uncle's big 60th bithday party. I was so excited to see everyone, but it kindof sucks when everyone has to leave (in this case, yesterday). And seeing as how I couldn't do any homework while they were here, my day off today must be spent catching up (although, I did go out to PF Changs which means my stomach is now content). Anywho, I leave you with some outfits from the big party/weekend.

A girl asked me today why I wear tights so often, she said she hated wearing them in dance and she didn't understand why ANYONE would wear them outside of dance. I told her they were comfy, and (in my opinion) very classy but casual at the same time. She stared at me for about 2 minutes, started to laugh, and then walked away. Interesting girl.

are all I need. I finally got to go to the library yesterday and pick up some books, I haven't had anything new to read since January! I'm so excited to read them, I love getting lost in books. Aside from that, all I did yesterday was go to the gym, finish up some homework, watch Make Me A Supermodel reruns, and go to Costco. I love relaxed Sundays (and wheat thins).

About today, Happy St. Patricks Day! I read somewhere that it was moved to the 15th this year, because of a Catholic holiday but I guess not? I totally forgot all about it even being St. Patties until 1st period when someone told me "You're not wearing green!" I was confused and started to ask why it would matter if I was wearing green, but then I remembered what day it is. I was a little bummed that I forgot (I didn't want to get pinched!) but then my friend realized that the flowers on my shirt were green, and all was well again.

But then it got hot, so I took off the cardigan...

Channeling My Roots

I decided to take out some tops from India I had gotten recently and try to Americanize them. I'm getting really into ethnic prints lately and I have found a new love in my Indian clothes, which is always nice because I can get some more wear out of them. So, here are some outfits, which I will hopefully wear out in the near future. Keep in mind that these are all casual tops, meant to be worn to lunches at someones house or things like that. They are not for big Indian parties- for those, we bust out the bad boys ;)

Perfect for summer, no? I love this top, I got it over winter break when I visited India. It's so comfy and soft and pretty at the same time.

Ah, I found this buried in between all the saris on my last day in India over winter. They only had one and it wasn't my size but I knew I had to get it. It's quite loose on me, but I love it. The color is dreamy.

A family friend of ours got me this top last year, as well. I haven't gotten a chance to wear it anywhere yet, but I love the print and the detailing on the neckline.

Probably my favorite. My aunt brought me the top when she came here to visit last year. I think the print and fabric of the top go wonderfully with the old-feel of the bag, which I am still obsessing over if you wanted to know.

And lastly, I leave you with an elephant my parents saw during their honeymoon in Goa (a beautiful beachy state in India).

I Am Sad

I wore my new dress today, the color makes me happy and reminds me very much of Spring!

Also, I found this bag in my mom's closet this morning. I ran downstairs with it and asked my mom if I could have it and WHY she was hiding it from me. She said her dad got it for her from New Dehli more than 15 years ago! I was really surprised becuase my parents don't have anything from when they were younger (which is a total shame because my dad was crazy cool back in the day. I should post pictures sometime..) Anyways, I'm very excited to wear it out!

What is your favorite piece of clothing that you own? Oh that's so hard to say, but I'd have to say it's this white dress I bought last year. everytime I wear it, someone says I look like a giant doilie. I'm not sure if they consider that a good or bad thing, but I just take it as a compliment!
Are you looking forward to Spring? Absolutely. I have tons of spring and summer dresses I can't wait to pull out and wear, along with my brighter skirts and jeans from 7th grade that I cut into shorts!
What is your favorite place to shop at? Well I don't like to spend too much money on clothes because I have to pay for other things so most of the timeIi just go to thrift stores. There is a savers down the street from my house and sometimes when I'm bored and have a little extra cash I'll ride my bike there and I'll always come out with something. But I also like Forever 21.
What inspires you? My friends. We always share clothes and have clothes swaps and they have some really great stuff. Other than that, I'm incredibly inspired by fashion in the 60's.
What do you like to besides dress incredibly? Haha. I love being outside, so I like to ride my bike and skate a lot.

What's your biggest pet-peeve (fashion wise)?I'd say the "rules" that people think they should follow (i.e. no wearing black and brown together, no wearing dark colors in the spring or bright colors in winter). I say wear what color you want to wear, when you want to wear it. As long as you feel comfortable, who cares? Fashion has no rules.

Last night, I was rereading some as usual and started to notice the clothing. Even though the comics are all at least 5 years old, most of the clothes go along with today's fashions. They're a combination of trendy, classy, and fun.

Okay, so I only have 3 things to talk about, but I love that song :)

I went hiking/walking this morning at a canyon near us with my mom and friend and it was quite amazing. Nature is incredible. I want go every weekend!

I would upload more pictures but Blogger hates me and won't upload them.

Also, I am getting slightly obsessed with guys graphic v-necks. They're so big and comfy and soft, I want to wear them everywhere. (But I can't)

Even Nicole likes them... (But it was probably the stylist who picked it out. Oh well.)

And lastly, it would fabulous if you voted in my poll! Yes, there is another one. I realized that my last one didn't have half the things I usually talk about. I'm smart.

I wore my marroon shorts again today :) I seriously need some new shorts, it's getting hot. Outfit was really really really plain, I wanted the necklaces I wore to stand out.

I wanted to wear this scarf thing in place of the necklaces, but yahoo.com said it was going to be 76 and I didn't know how I was supposed to tie it. It's pretty large but not large enough to wear like a stole (tied in a knot in front). Anyone have any suggestions?

And, on another note, does it not seem like Paris has the coolest people ever?

Aaardvarks is quite possibly my favorite store ever, they have so many quirky weird ugly cool clothes & it's relatively inexpensive. I never leave Aaardvarks empty handed, they even sell wigs there. As for flea markets, I love the Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena, it's the second Sunday of every month & there is just aisles & aisles of vintage clothes, bags, shoes, accessories, sunglasses. I could, and usually do, spend the whole day there. I even have this weird shopping cart thing I bring to help me lug around my treasures."
Does LA influence the way you dress? "I'm not sure. I'd like to think that I would dress the same no matter where I grew up. The weather is normally pretty nice so I can wear dresses year round and I always see lots of well-dressed people when I'm walking around the city. Where do you get most of your inspiration from? "Books. I'm a huge book nerd & whenever I get really into a book I want to dress like the characters from the books. I recently discovered Hint Magazine and I have to say, I love it. I first checked out the featured multimedia and the three photoshoots were labeled "Bright Angles," "Streetniks," and "Easy Breezy." The latter was about menswear so I decided to check out Bright Angles first. It was full of spectacular colors for Spring- in the clothes and in the cool background things that popped up everywhere (go see what I'm talking about! It's so cool!) I couldn't help but to stare at each picture for a good 5 minutes each. I, then, moved on to Streetniks. The description talked about how radicals choose asymmetry and hoods over turtlenecks and berets. I was a bit confused and assumed that the spread would be okay. This turned out to be untrue. In one word, the photos were amazing! They were so clever and strange and...beautiful. The spread was basically about following your own path and dressing how you please.

Please tell me how amazing it would be to walk around with that metal/wire contraption attached to your coat.

As some of you may know, a group of people (myself included) are starting an online fashion magazine called Prim. It will be making its debut April 1, 2008 and includes an interview with Peter Bjorn & John, and other snazzy things. You can check out Prim's myspace here.

So, as I said before, my cousin was down here for the 3-day weekend partly to visit us and partly to visit her brother who goes to USC. Sorry for the lack of posting for the last couple of days. My cousin came down from San Jose for the weekend. Basically all we did was shop :) I'll post pictures later/tomorrow. Anyways, while she was here, she introduced me to Mike and Chris. Made up of husband and wife- Mike Gonzalez and Christine Park-Gonzalez, it started of as just jackets and coats but now includes a whole womens and mens line. The line consists of beautifully distressed leathers (not that I would wear leather!), oversized buttons, antique brass eyelets, and unconventional detailing/styling. ROSES. I'm the sophomore vp of Make A Wish and all the officers stayed after school today to help tie tags onto the roses we sold for Valentines. Want to guess how many? 140. Freaking. Roses. It was insane. And we have to go to school early tomorrow to deliver them to the teachers so that they can pass them out during TA. Fun stuff wooooo. Anyways, it was warm and sunny today but then when we were going home after the roses, it became all gloomy and cold and windy and it was not fun at all, especially since I was wearing shorts.

Outfit was a little bit simple but I liked it. I finally go to to wear my socks pulled alllll the way up and wear them without my boots! Yay!

Irina Lazareanu is definitely one of the cutest girls I’ve ever seen. Her style is effortless- I love the fact that she looks as though she just threw something on. But what sets her apart from others who go for this “I don’t care” look is that she actually looks divine. She can pull of both masculine and feminine looks, which (I would think) works to her advantage for fashion shows and such. She has modeled for Chanel, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Luella, Marc Jacobs, Jovovich-Hawk, Karl Lagerfeld, Proenza, and Anna Sui just to name a few. And as if she wasn't already successful enough, she has also co-written a track for the British rock group Babyshambles.

And for those of you who don't have a Sprouts near you, you're seriously missing out! It's the coolest healthiest food store everrrr. Bought some stuff to make chocolate chip/cranberry cookies. Yum.

I have never heard of her before this, but (as I've noticed) that's usually the case with stylish girls.
Apparently, she is a British TV presenter and former model. But what's more important is how she dresses- wonderfully! She reminds me somewhat of MaryKate and Ashley, but it's much more toned down. Although I do love the Olsens, I adore Alexa Chung's way of making simplicity look exciting and beautiful.

I apologize for my lack of interesting posts and similarity in outfits. I promise I will think of some neat stuff to write about!

But, first, what I wore today. It's basically like yesterdays with a different top half.

The jacket has a babydoll-type cut as shown in the wonderful 2nd picture (yes, the hunchback one ha). I found it in my closet last night, I vaguely remember getting it as a Christmas present 3 years ago. Yay.

Anyyyyyways, the other day I was reading my dad's Fortune magazine and came across an article called "Busting out of the Botiques." It was an article about fice small business owners who will apaprently be global brands. Out of the five different models showing clothes, Rachel Comey's caught my eye. Rachel Comey showed her first collection (menswear) only two days about 9/11! Imagine how stressfull it must have been for her! But despite the day, she ended up selling many orders to big botiques mainly because David Bowie had been seen wearing her designs. A few seasons later, she decided that she was over menswear and she now focuses solely on women.

She could have definetely taken more risks with her Spring 2008 collection but overall, it was nice in a simple way. Definetely wearable, and most of the clothes give off a spring-ish vibe. The collection considsted of mostly high-waisted shorts, little dresses, flowy skirts, belted waists, florals (obviously), stripes, and pastel colors.

I then moved on to her Fall 2008 Collection. It was way more fun and, for lack of a better term, risque than Spring. There were loud prints, deep jewel-y colors, and funny looking furry things everywhere. It was super entertaining to look at and very inspirational in many ways.

The first two looks in the middle row are my favorite.

Weather was quite pleasant today, school was okay.

These boots:

I wear this cardigan too much.

Black opaque tights with huge run on one leg (my hand is semi covering it.)
Grey socks with an argyle-ish print cut out, for lack of a better term.
Grey oversized cardigan.

Black suede boots.

Oh, and we're selling these necklaces for Make-A-Wish for 8$ a piece.

Jovovich-Hawk Part 2

Yes, another Jovovich-Hawk post. I found some of their looks on Target and I am even more excited than before. When I saw all the beautiful clothes on their website, I KNEW that they wouldn’t be selling those clothes. Yes, I don't have faith in people sometimes haha. And after looking at the looks on Target, I see that they’re completely different pieces but still gorgeous. Some trends remain the same (polka dots, little details, lots of dresses, florals, etc…) but for the most part, they're completely different. Some of my favorite looks:

I can't determine whether they're affordable or not yet. A dress is about 40$ which isn't too much if a) you have money to spend b) you need a dress and c ) it's good quality. But if you DON'T have money to spend on a dress that you won't wear that much and it's NOT good quality, then yes. It is quite expensive.

On a side note: I have my first behind-the-wheel lesson in 20 minutes!
Also, I'm thinking of volunteering at Goodwill to get my hours. Has anyone done this?

Ah, school is seriously wearing me out. And it's only the beginning of the second semester. I started studying for the SAT's yesterday (I'm currently a sophomore), my cousin's wife told me that it's a good studying technique to find 10 words a day from the dictionary that you don't know and make a funny story out of it. I think it actually works becuase I remembered the words today :) Here was my little story:

It was a sunny, breezy Saturday- a group of pestiferous Hyperborans were walking around and mandrakes were blooming. All of a sudden, a young man wearing a kilt with a seluage, ran out of the conventicle that was going on at the moment. he started yelling that he had a mandate to foist the Hyperboreans to dance on their heads. This was unheard of, it was inadmisable. However, the Hyperboreans had no choice but to listen to the man so they started on their heads. They dance that they did was tripartite, it was ridiculous. They ended with a loud sneeze and quickly walked away. This was definetely not something rife.

Haha you can probably guess the 10 words ;) Also, I have CAHSEE testing next month- you need to pass it to graduate. In addition to academic work, I have tennis league tryouts on the 9th and a tournament with my partner that we really need to win on the 16th. If we win, we have a better chance of making it to varsity next year at school. Bleh.
Anyways, I finally wore my highwaisted skinnies to schoool. A lot of people liked it and some people didn't but the latter doesn't really matter.

Sorry for not posting for a while :( Formal was last night, it was okay. Lots and lots of drama, as usual! Here are a couple of pictures from last night.

These are two of my closest friends. Our whole group had about 30 people but I don't have any pictures of the whole group because my camera hates me. Oh and fyi, I didn't change into any sandals. We ended up just throwing our shoes under a table, haha. Oh and I'm in the purple, which you probably already know.

Anyways, I was browsing the Fall 2008 RTW collections on style.com again and came across a name I've never heard of-Rag & Bone. The name seemed interesting so I clicked on it and found a new love. They perfectly combine femininity and toughness.

Their blazers are gorgeous-perfectly tailored and wonderful little buttons.

Does anyone else see a striking resemblance between these sweaters and the ones from American Apparel?

And how cute are the designers?

Relief

Ahhh English problem is resolved, hence the title. Haha :)

I have this pair of jeans that I wear the majority of the week, so I'm trying not to wear them for a while. That's why probably most of the outfits I'm going to post will include tights which I have refound my love (does that make sense?)

Anyways, outfit was simple/casual but I think it worked.

Also, which sandals do you guys think look better with my formal dress?
I posted the dress before but so you don't have to look for it:

I'm probably going to change into one of these for dancing. Heels are for pictures/dinner.

I like the bead ones better but my dog bit off all the beads on the other sandal. I glued them back together and it looks kindof bad/messy but my mom said no one will notice because it will be dark. What do you think?

Channeling Scandinavia

I've fallen in love with Scandinavians. They always look so adorable and effortlessly chic!
I stumbled upon one blog, Lisaplace, and let me tell you, this girl is the possibly the coolest person i've ever seen. Although I can't read any of the blog (it's in Scandinavian) her outfits are gorgeous. I hope she doesn't mind me posting some.

So today, I tried to channel my inner Scandinavia and this is what I came up with.

Okay, so the only common things are the tights and shoes but I liked it. I should probably get a highwaisted skirt to really look the part :)

high & wasted

Haha I am so funny :)
As I said would, I tried on some tops with my new high waisted jeans. I still have yet to conquer the art of tucking in long things without there being a bulge, but I think I did pretty good.

^ Okay so I couldn't hide both of the bulges in this one :(

(My hands are in weird positions to sneakily cover the bulges hehe. And please keep in mind that none of these are accessorized yet.)

On a side note, my mom has been giving my old clothes to Goodwill for as long as I can remember. But recently (today) she said I could sell them to Buffalo Exchange. You have no idea how excited I am. Don't get my wrong, I love to help out the needy but as a sophomore in high school with no job who survives off gift money from family/friends, leftover lunch money, and the occasional money from the parents, I would really like/enjoy the extra money even if it won't be that much. Also, this gives me motivation to clean out my closet...

Jovovich-Hawk

Apparently, they're the next Target GO International designer: arriving March 2, 2008.
Sorry if I'm ruining this for anyone :)

It's made up of LA based Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk. I was looking through their Spring 2008 collection and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully, they bring some sweet clothes to Target becuase I find that the GO designers don't always bring the best looking clothes from their collections. You know?

These were some of my favorite. They're classic Spring colors, but the designs are just beautiful. I especially liked the purple/pink polka dotted romper (the first one). I usually despise polka dots, but this is just amazing! And then because I was having SO much fun, I went over to the past collections and looked at Holiday 2007. I feel like it was more safe design-wise, but they did have some very, very nice dresses.

The green jacket/dress thing was my favorite :)
So basically, I'm very excited for Jovovish-Hawk to come to Target!

What's In for Spring 2008

Yes, I am psychic.
Naht. I was browsing style.com and came upon the 2008 Spring Style Trends. They consisted of "bare market"- basically, showing some skin and see through items; "boy meets girl"-androgny everywhere; "hippie revival"-fringe and tie dye; "neon bible"-dazzling shades of green, orange, yellow, pink, blue, etc; "nice stems"-floral everything; and finally "style tribes"-bold african/indian inspired prints. My favorite would have to be the latter. Ever since I got back from India (beginning of this month), my eyes have just been drawn to everything with an ethnic print. It's like the dormant ethnic side to me has finally been revived. I also can't help but to notice the prices of everything printed I look at. I actually bought a top in India for about 10$ converted in this beautiful black and white print. And as it so happens, I was browsing Net-a-Porter and saw an identical printed top for like 500$. Moral of this story: Go to India and buy clothes.

Hello bloggers/blog-readers! I didn't realize that I haven't been on since TUESDAY. Sorry!

Like most everyone else, I have finals next week so I probably won't be on much because I'll be busy cramming everything into my head. Yay finals! But, on the plus side, I have A's in ALL my classes except one but I have a 88 in there so hopefully it'll raise with my finals.

On to other things, my winter formal is coming up! (Also like most everyone else.) I went dress shopping today with my momma to Mission Viejo Mall. I was planning on getting some cheap thing from Forever 21 becuase I have to pay for everything myself and everything is becoming quite expensive (Ticket was 60$, Limo is 40$, then there's pictures, dinner, dress, shoes...) But the first store we went into was Express becuase we saw some sale signs. It was CRAZY in there. There were such big sales, and they were everywhere!! There were those like 9.99, 19.99, 29.99 bins and then 30% of everything that's on sale! It was amazing! I ended up getting my dress from there + these sweet purple yoga pants for a combined total of dun dun dun...23 dollars! I was so happy! (You can probably tell by my exclamation marks) I still have to buy shoes somewhere but this dress makes me so happy.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow, because it's night time right now and my room is dark (even with the lights on.)

These days, I see many "hipsters" wearing their American Apparel v-necks, skinny jeans, beat up shoes, and camera around their neck. Some of them take pictures becuase it's the "cool thing to do," while others are actually very good. I would think I'm the latter (minus the hipster part) although this is probably not the case. So, I'm dedicating this post to show you a few simple shots. Enjoy.

Possibly two of the most debated-about girls, fashion wise. Personally, I love them, especially Mary-Kate. There's just something about her "thrown-together" style that appeals to me.

I am absolutely in love with the last three dresses. I would probably die if I got my hands on one of them. And to make it better, that last dress is from their very own line, Elizabeth and James. Gorgeous, no?

So I have a confession. I used to never really follow fashion shows and all that jazz. Sure, I knew all the big designers and the ones I stumbled upon in Vogue and Nylon, but I never went online looking for shows, etc. But I’m starting to get really into browsing the Ready-to-Wear collections on Style.com. First collection I looked at: Proenza Schouler. I have to say, I never really looked at any of their clothes besides when they had the little line at Target going on, but the collection definitely pleasantly surprised me.

Runway collections always seemed extremely unpractical and exxagerated to me (which they are). But Proenza Schouler's Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear collection definetely changed my opinion about that. I could totally see people wearing these or variations of these outfits outside. I used to hate the whole tailored look, but I think I could really get into it. If I was cool as Stephanie (writer of the blog boomshakkalakka), I would recreate this looks. But sadly, I am not.

Okay, so I decided I should probably start writing in this thing. I don't know where this blog will go, but I know that I definitely want to post my own outfits. I want to post the pictures of inspiration I have saved in a big folder on my desktop, comment on designers (maybe? I need to start getting into looking at collections online), and basically give my opinion on everything and anything I come across.

So I guess I'll end this with two pictures, hopefully you'll enoy them as much as I do.
